exactly. this is my fave. but too sweet when fully ripe...which is when I like it..as the skin points start turn black

no, not psidium? exactly like jamoon, but looks like a large bead. grew in clusters and we used to put our heads back and just lower them to our mouths (all minds out of the gutter please, lol) ...
we also made wine with it.

so dats 'Jamoon' Jamun. all these years i hear dem talking about 'jamoon' and never checked it out.
so it grow in Guyana ? I never saw a tree in Trinidad.
