HAVANA, Cuba (ACN) — The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Department of the Treasury (OFAC) has imposed a penalty of $1,347,750 on the Great Western Malting Company for infringing the US blockade of Cuba.
This latest sanction was applied to the US company for carrying out several operations through which a foreign subsidiary sold barley malt — of non-US origin — to the island, between August 2006 and March 2009, the OFAC said on Tuesday.
So far this year, the US Department of the Treasury has fined three US and foreign entities under the Cuban trading embargo.
The direct economic damage caused to Cuba by the US embargo up to December 2010 has been conservatively estimated at more than $104 billion.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

On the flip side , I shipped some Made In USA speakers for a disco in Varadero:
Forgot to take off the Label
Cuba customs shipped it back to me ...
I peel off the made in USA label , replaced it with a Canada Maple Leaf.
Shipped it back and the Client got it ! :
