Cost only $29 for the whole year, one year free service is included when you purchase the Magic Jack unit, all calls in Canada and to USA is free, get a Canadian local # for an extra $10, going on a trip anywhere in the world, take it with you , as long as there is internet connection and calling back to Canada or USA, they calls are free or anyone from USA or Canada can call you on it,,calls are free. With your internet connection but they now have the Magic Jack plus where your computer don't have to on to use it, just connect to your internet router

so do you still need a landline

Great service , calls are clear, I no longer have a landline phone

Well for emergency  just incase your internet service is down but if you have a cell phone , I don't see the need for a landline

The whole point of going away is to dis-connect, no???
