According to Reuters "a new study found that earthquakes can lead to flash vaporization that leaves behind gold veins". When the ground vibrates (i.e. such as an earthquake), water vaporizes, and substances of gold emerges.  There have been many tragic reports of earthquakes across the globe. This is the first I have heard of anything like this.
