Of all the contemporary test teams, Australia is the only one which can trouble South Africa. They were on top for most of the days when South Africa visited them in 2012. If du Plessis had not saved the Adelaide test, the series would have been drawn. When they visited South Africa in 2011, they drew the test series which in itself is a big achievement. I am sure Australia will give tough time to South Africa this time too. Who knows may be they might win the series.

Australia are the inverse India. Bowling good enough to knock SA over, batting questionable. Nonetheless, if Clarke can find a couple of guys happy to sweat it out and hang around with him to build partnerships, a draw is within reach.

I would like a " neutral " venue for this Match up !

Too often we are seeing lop sided HOME wins ... :(

@Ketchim - have no idea what you're talking about. SA home test was one of the best ones recently, the first test vs India. Before when Oz visited SA, it was bloody good as well - Oz bounced back from nowhere and won the test. And SA are oddly enough not that great at home, far from "lop sided".

As for the thread, I agree. Would like to see Mitch bowl in SA now. Although I hope it's not the shitty Mitch that turns up in SA. That's been the case for ages, sadly.

Heh, I was talking about this series in specific - some home series are dull - for eg. I don't like 80% of home tests played in India. But that doesn't make the statement broadly true - not all home series are one sided, far from it.

SA home tests are really interesting. Hell, any tests involving SAffers are interesting IMO.

And I'd say this NZ side would do far better in WI than the previous ones.

Australia full of confidence going up against the number 1 ranked side in test cricket South Africa. It won't be easy for Australia to upset and defeat South Africa in their own territory.
With the South African batting line up Its going to be a hard task for the Australians. But the ball is round and the bat is straight lets keep our fingers cross.

Based on their performance against England you would have to agree.

Sidelined at the moment are Starc, Cummings, Pattinson etc.

Their batting has a long way to go and who would have thought Smith would have been their saviour with Haddin.

Smith has been such a revelation. Haddo, he's always had it in him, he's sucked for a while that's all.
Smith, everyone was against his inclusion - and he's dug team out of trouble a lot of times now. Really liking the guy. Also fielding is a bonus, one of the best fielders in the world, easily.

Mail, you forgot the most important one - Bird, he's quality and he's been aceing it in Big Bash even.
And yeah, bowling is really looking good - you know it's good when Bird and Patto are struggling to find a place in the side, and Starc is not even under the radar right now.
And Cummins, I don't know it's been a while and he's about to resume for Scorchers now coming back from a long injury. Just hoping that he's not lost pace.

Perhaps the most perplexing aspect of AT&T Stadium, otherwise known as “Jerry World,” is the glare from the sun that bursts through the windows and shines directly onto the field. Time and time again the glare has impacted players’ visibility during games, yet Jerry Jones refuses to make any changes to account for the sun.

Rather than install curtains, Jones has previously said he feels it’s a home-field advantage to have that type of stadium factor impacting games. Well, the glare ended up benefitting the Chiefs early into Thursday’s Thanksgiving game, as a pass from Dak Prescott to George Pickens fell incomplete, at least in part due to the impact of the sun’s glare.

SerenaThis batting performance by the West Indies in the second innings blew me away. I kept closing my eyes and then rubbing and opening them again and sat transfixed as I watch that unbelievable partnership between John Campbell and Shai Hope. What a magnificent performance by these two! It just goes to show that patience, determination and effort can go a long way to improve the performances of the West Indies team. Let us hope that this effort by West Indies batsmen would not be a one-off performance, but will be the beginning of a renewed effort to improve the performances of the team, going forward.(13.10.2025, 09:28)(09:28)0

"As a competitor, you want to be the starter. But I prepare to be the starter, I know I'm a starter in this league.

But you have to be able to be grateful for your role...my role right now is to assist Russ and Jaxson to be the best that they can be while preparing to be the best that I can be.

No matter if I'm 3, 33, this is my first year being number 19, so it's always a first for everything.
