Marlon Samuels slammed a century in a West Indies first innings total of 272 all out off 72.3 overs against a Barbados Select XI on the first day of a two-day match at 3Ws Oval today.
Barbados Select were 22 for one off eight overs at the close.
Samuels batted for 162 minutes, faced 95 balls and struck 13 fours and five sixes.
Veteran Shivnarine Chanderpaul made 56 in 77 minutes off 62 deliveries with three fours and three sixes.
Opener Kraigg Brathwaite contributed 46 in 179 minutes. He received 79 balls and counted five fours and one six.
Left-arm spinner Kavem Hodge was the leading wicket-taker with four for 58 off 15.3 overs, while fast bowler and captain Jason Holder picked up two for 15 off 11 overs.
The match is in preparation for the three-Test series against New Zealand, which starts June 8 in Jamaica.
