Solution in Sight

As per Tony Cozier`s article :

"There were reliable reports yesterday that agreement was reached that the new MoM/CBA would be renegotiated. But a time frame was not given. In the interim, all the players will be available for selection for the December 10-January 28 tour of South Africa and the February 14-March 26 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand."

If this is so then we could see a temporary truce between players & board . But how about the $42m claim?

Well bigplop that is sensible given what caused the impasse and the paucity of intelligent effort on the part of the WICB to nip it in the bud!

Employers can speak to their employess which the WICB,  by their bullying tactics, did not do, despeite requests.

I sincerely hope this incident forces changes to the current leadership and influences future incumbents.

Well Well this negotiation could have been done after the India tour also. Bravo last assignment was on 23rd Oct,2014. So they had ample time to come back, negotiate & save West Indies Cricket from Imminent sanctions. In my view cricketers take a Lion Share of this mess.

Good for cricket. Could have been done at the end of the India tour, looked like a circus. WICB should now ensure the following:

1. Ensure The New Contracts are signed ASAP . Cricketers as professionals do need to know their payouts well in advance.
2. Ensure Team Selection based on Performance only. Serious evaluation of performance of some mediocre bits & pieces cricketers needed.
3. Ensure the PCL moves forward . This will build up a pool of cricketers for future selection.
