Darren Sammy: Notts to sign West indies all-rounder for T20 Blast

Nottinghamshire are poised to sign West Indies all-rounder Darren Sammy for part of their T20 Blast campaign.

The 31-year-old will be available for four matches between 31 May and 12 June, and a deal is in place for him to return should Notts reach the quarter-finals and finals day.

Notts need cover because batsmen James Taylor and Alex Hales could be on England duty in that period.

"He's an explosive Twenty20 player," director of cricket Mick Newell said.

"He has a reputation around the world for being a good player and a good bloke and will fit into the middle order."
