Travis Blyden continues to impress in T&T

From the time the 2015 cricket season commenced in the first week in February, 25-year-old Guyanese
leg-spinning All-Rounder Travis Blyden has been enjoying a productive time playing for Evergreen Sports Club in the Trinidad &Tobago’s Premier Two  League.
Blyden plays in all the formats for his Club, t20, 50-overs and the three-day competition which is in its fifth round and with another two rounds to play, Evergreen stands at fifth place on the points table.
After losing first innings points to Moosia Cricket Club two weeks ago in a drawn game played at the Moosia ground at Honeymoon Park, Blyden scored 70 in the second innings.
Last Sunday, in the 50-over League at the Evergreen ground Pluck road South Trinidad, Evergreen battled T&T prisons club in a game which was reduced to 35 overs because of rain. Evergreen won the toss and batted first, making 233-6 in 35 overs with Blyden being run out seven short of his century. His knock was decorated with 10 fours and a six. This was the third consecutive half century made by Blyden who has made four fifties so far for the season.
Former Guyana under-19 right-hander Seon Hetmyer, the older sibling of West Indies under-19 opener Shemron Hetmyer, stroked 56 with seven fours, while Kevin Bissoondat supported with 54.The pick of the bowlers for Prison was Bridgelyall Singh who took 3-27.
When Prisons batted they were bowled out for 133 in 31 overs with Avinash Seetaran taking 4-19. Blyden, who has five-wicket haul against Bamboo Sports club, offered support with 2-25. (Sean Devers)
