Port of Spain, May 1: The Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board (TTCB) has expressed support for West Indies spinner Sunil Narine, who has been banned from bowling off-breaks in matches organised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
The TTCB has dispatched a letter to Narine pledging its support and offering assistance to the spinner whose ban also extends to Indian Premier League (IPL) matches. Narine could be suspended if he uses the off-break again in the ongoing IPL but is allowed to continue bowling his other deliveries, reports CMC.
"The TTCB are very supportive of Sunil Narine as he currently embarks on addressing the issues raised by the BCCI concerning his bowling action," TTCB Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Suruj Ragoonath said.
"We are fully committed to assisting Sunil in whatever way he needs our support. We know it is a trying time and it's difficult but we know Sunil has the necessary resolve to overcome this situation and continue to mesmerise batsmen around the world.â€
