16 years ago today Brian Lara scored the second fastest ODI hundred from just 45 balls against Bangladesh. Shiv finished the innings 77 not out. Rather incredibly, the rest of 1999 was a rather down year for Lara in ODI's as he averaged just 24.26 in 29 matches.

Perhaps as a sign of the times, since that magical knock, Mark Boucher, Corey Anderson and AB de Villiers have all recorded faster centuries with AB holding the current record of 31 balls set earlier this year in the World Cup against West Indies.
