Inzamam-ul-Haq feels Mohammad Amir should not play again for Pakistan

Former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq feels that convicted fixer Mohammad Amir, who is playing cricket again, should not be selected for Pakistan again, as it would cause too many problems within the team.

Amir was banned for five years after being found guilty of spot fixing in 2010.

Inzamam said on One India: "I don't think it would be a good idea to allow either Aamir or the two other players (Salman Butt and Mohammad Asif) involved in the spot-fixing scandal back into the Pakistan team.

"I just feel that if Aamir is selected again for the national team it will divert the focus of the other players away from cricket and there will be added pressure on them and Aamir.

"I know from experience that if Aamir is selected in the Pakistan team and when it goes to England, Australia or even India the media will just focus on him and it will mean problems in the dressing room."

As a neutral viewer, I want to see him bowling for Pakistan.

Also, he was 19 years old when he spot-fixed. He was a kid and he was pressured by older men. You have to forgive him and move on.

Only prolonged and sustained dumbassery should be attacked.

For me it's not really about being forgiving, it's about cheating. These guys were found guilty of cheating, it doesn't matter what you call it, match rigging, spot fixing...it all adds up to the same. They are cheats.

While you could say that they have served the punishment so should now be free to play again, I don't think they still have the right to represent their country.
