Very good news if this is true. Although I am not sure how many Tests they will play per year, especially against any of the bigger sides. I still believe believe introducing a two-tier format is the way to go, guaranteeing each side a certain number of Tests per year. But this is a step in the right direction.

There is truth to that rumor about Ireland and Afghanistan being accorded test status , however  the other part  is that  test  status would be removed from the West Indies and Zimbabwe
