IBE beat Enterprise Secondary by 89 runs to win ECD zone final

ENTERPRISE Secondary School failed to click with both bat and ball and were whipped by International Business Education (IBE) by 89 runs in the East Coast Demerara zone final when the 2016 edition of the Guyana Cricket Board National Secondary Schools Cricket League was completed yesterday at the Enterprise Community Centre ground.
While the eventual winners were guilty of throwing away starts, the hosts never got going and eventually folded for 64, chasing 153 for victory.
A disciplined bowling, with excellent fielding, ensured the dominant victory, with only Himnauth Dindyal (24) offering any fight for the hosts.
Earlier, after they decided to bat first, opener Tameshwar Permaul hit a fluent fifty to lift the visitors to 152. Permaul was watchful at the start but switched gears after getting his eyes in.

He shared a second-wicket stand of 87 in 90 balls, with Khemraj Pararam, after medium pacer Yogendra Samaroo provided the early breakthrough when he trapped Daniel Motoo (1), leg-before at 12-1.
The partnership not only revived the innings, but put their team in a position of dominance. The pair were cautions at the start of their innings, but eventually batted with assurance as the innings progressed. Permaul in particular showed great composure in his 61.
However, the visitors then lost their remaining batsmen for 53 runs as the hosts spin-twins, Suraj Dookram and Rafeek Azeez, shared seven wickets between them.
The off-spinner Dookram finished with figures of 4-22, while leg-spinner Azeez ended with 3-33.

Pararam made 22 while Teeran Rajcoomar (12) was the other batsman with double figures.
In the run-chase, the hosts were never allowed to settle, as wickets fell on a regular basis.
Mario Franklin (2-12) was the main destroyer. Permaul, Motoo, Nandalall, Sankar Raju and Nicolas Narine, all claimed a wicket.
