"During the voyage [of 'Merican baseballers on world tour] we played
cricket on the deck and Jim Thorpe surprised everybody by excelling
at the game. Thorpe's playing was a revelation to several Englishmen
who were on board, for it was the first time the Indian ever tried
the game."
