Anil Kumble: India cricket advertises for new coach

Indian cricket has invited fresh applications for the post of head coach, a month before Anil Kumble's contract ends.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) did not indicate if this meant Kumble would be replaced.
But Indian media reports cited sources as saying the board was unhappy with him for demanding salary increases for himself and the team.
India had a successful year under Kumble, losing just one Test.
A BCCI statement said that as current coach, Kumble - a former captain of the Indian side - would be a direct entrant for the selection process.

I wonder why they are finding replacement in such short time even after successful year from him. This is weird. I wonder who can replace Mr. Kumble. Dravid or Ganguly.

Many times there are other interests behind these replacements, not just sporting success. Sometimes players managers want to be better positioned with a certain coach in order to value the player more. It's just how it goes.

I hope those other interests not make this thing worse for Indian team. Coach is an important role in this, he should have good tone with players and management both.

Well, I think Kumble is doing fine with training and I wonder why they want a replacement. I personally think Dravid would be a fine replacement for him.

Cricket does NOT need a Head Coach !

::confused::Yes he seems a nice option for sure. Even before Kumble got selected, I was thinking that Dravid should be considered as coach of the Indian team. But I was surprised by Kumble at that time as I never heard his name at that time for coach.
