ST JOHN’S, Antigua – Two former Windies legends will headline the live ball-by-ball television coverage of the upcoming of the Super50 Cricket Festival of West Indies cricket.
Ian Bishop, a world-leading cricket commentator and Sir Curtly Ambrose, one of the greatest fast bowlers of all time, will be the lead analysts on the ESPN broadcast as well as on ESPN Play

The other members of the commentary panel are Daren Ganga, the former Windies batsman and Trinidad & Tobago captain; Tino Best, the former Windies and Barbados fast bowler; and Orville Higgins, a noted print and electronic journalist, who joins the panel for the first time.
Bishop said he is very excited to be part of the commentary panel and is looking forward to seeing the regional players showcase their talents.

The opportunity to televise the game into the homes and lives of as many consumers as possible, is integral to the growth of the game and the popularity of this tournament,” he said.

Bishop added: “The skills needed to form the base of an international player that will push the barriers and parameters of what was previously thought to be impossible, and to compete with the very best players globally, are forged right here, at this level in the regional game.
“Over the duration of the Festival, as players and teams around the region to compete, develop and hone their skills to its optimum level, we get the chance to witness a wonderful spectacle. This will allow us to see which young up-and-coming players, or previously not widely known names will grab the headlines and take home the silverware.”
ESPN’S COVERAGE
Expect increased coverage of this years’ event with ESPN and the Cricket West Indies Match Centre. ESPN’s coverage includes nine live games from the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua. The first live match will feature 2017 runners up, Jamaica Scorpions vs Guyana Jaguars on Thursday, February 8 starting at 2pm
The nine live matches will also be shown via authenticated digital streaming on ESPN3 in the US (available in the WatchESPN app) and ESPN Player in the Caribbean.
The ESPN coverage will also feature highlights from the matches in Barbados. All the other matches will be streamed via the CWI match centre (
www.windiescricket.com) and the CWI Facebook page.
The tournament started on January 30 and concludes on February 24 at Coolidge Cricket Ground. The winning team will take home the Clive Lloyd Trophy.
