Andre Russell

Personally I don't think Russell would make much of a difference player for Windies in the upcoming T20 WC. He's no longer a consistent player and his impact in the IPL is occasional at best. With Hosein and Motie in our lineup and both with some batting ability, not sure Narine is needed either. What is needed is ensuring all the players are in tip top physical form, mentally hyped and ready and ironing out the issues on the field - eliminating weaknesses and strengthening capacity and capabilities so we can have the best available team hopefully in fine form. As well CWI should find a way of getting Lewis and Allen back in the lineup. Possible first eleven lineup could be King, Lewis, Hety, Pooran, Powell, Smith, Shepherd, Hosein, Motie/Walsh/Allen, Mcoy, Drakes/Joseph.

I think it’s also time for some people to understand T20 cricket and understand the roles of the players. Any batter whose task is to play high-risk cricket is unlikely to be consistent.

The ideal WC T20 first eleven team but not gonna happen: Lewis, Hetmyer, Pooran, Allen, Rovman Powell, Rutherford, Shepherd, Smith, Hosein, Motie, Mcoy. I don't think any of these players should give way to Russell, or Narine either.
