Putting things in perspective here.

This is the Test XI that played the last match vs India.

Chanderpaul
McKenzie
Athanaze
Blackwood*
Da Silva
Holder*
Joseph
Roach
Warrican*
Gabriel*

Seven of these players are in the test squad for Australia.

Holder has opted out, and had been replaced by Sinclair who has done well with bat and ball throughout the year. That is a good selection.

Warrican has been replaced by Motie, who is looking like the best WI bowler across formats. That is a good selection as well. (And I believe Motie was injured earlier and Warrican had played vs India because of that.)

Blackwood and Gabriel have been terrible, and have been replaced.

So, exactly what is the complaint that so many people seem to have about the Test squad for Australia?

It is really on expected lines, surely.

Australian great Steve Waugh in an interview regarding Test cricket said:
