Former West Indies cricketer Philo Wallace believes Cricket West Indies (CWI) May Not Have Selected The Strongest Possible Squad For Next Month’s ICC T20 World Cup.
He Said : " The squad selections have raised a few concerns, particularly the inclusion of Johnson Charles. At the T20 level, he hasn’t made a significant impact despite being around for a long time, and his performances haven’t really stood out.
I don’t have much familiarity with Sampson either. I watched him play in Abu Dhabi and wasn’t particularly impressed. When I compare that to Shamar Springer—whom we also saw in Abu Dhabi and who genuinely lifted the standard of West Indies T20 cricket—it feels like a player of his caliber would be more suited to a World Cup squad.
He Added : " I’m also not convinced about Shimron Hetmyer; in my view, he has disappointed us on far too many occasions.
West Indies Squad For T20WC : Shai Hope (c), Shimron Hetmyer, Johnson Charles, Roston Chase, Matthew Forde, Jason Holder, Akeal Hosein, Shamar Joseph, Brandon King, Gudakesh Motie, Rovman Powell, Sherfane Rutherford, Quentin Sampson, Jayden Seales, Romario Shepherd
