THE scent of a successful title defence is beginning to waft through the Guyana Harpy Eagles camp, and captain Tevin Imlach isn’t trying to hide his satisfaction.
Following a ruthless dismantling of the Windward Islands Volcanoes at the Antigua Recreation Ground (ARG), Imlach’s men find themselves hitting their stride at the business end of the CWI Regional Four-Day Championship.
The mood, as Imlach described it on Wednesday, is “very good,” a predictable byproduct of back-to-back victories that have seen the Eagles transition from a slow start into a relentless, well-oiled machine.
“We play to win, and we’ve done that over the past two games,” Imlach noted, emphasising that the squad’s trajectory is pointing north just as the stakes reach their peak. For a team that prides itself on clinical execution, the “getting better” part of his assessment should serve as a warning to the rest of the circuit.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
