so where does the so called "veto" power come in?
The president can veto legislation. For example, the Republican congress passed a bill to repeal Obamacare...Obama vetoed it. If however, both chambers had passed the bill with a 2/3 majority then Obama would have had no choice but to sign it. He could not veto.
WASN'T IT A REPUG CONGRESS THAT PASSED OBAMACARE ::confused::
But take note..presidential executive orders have taken on legislative authority now. the president don't need congress for as much as they used to.
you are right about 2-thirds majority to over-ride presidential veto..but its almost impossible to get 2-thirds even with a Repug congress. but the PEO'S are now IN...presidential executive orders.
as I said: if Trum' goes to washington without a popular movement behind him he will not get anything done..cannot enact his program. allyuh thought I was making joke.. or allyuh hard of hearing when I talk ::confused::
but yet now allyuh saying the same thing..recognize all I have said many times already. they will block and stymie Trump if indeed he is opposed to the status quo and is for the people. allyuh can see it happening now already.
Quote:Prominent neocon Robert Kagan has endorsed Democrat Hillary Clinton for president, saying she represents the best hope for saving the United States from populist billionaire Donald Trump, who has repudiated the neoconservative cause of U.S. military interventions in line with Israel’s interests.
FOR THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN AND FOLLOW THE PRINCIPLE OF "LESSER EVILISM..TRUMP IS THE LESSER EVIL..NOT BILLARY. BILLARY IS PURE NAKED EVIL
Quote:The fact is that Clinton has generally marched in lock step with the neocons as they have implemented an aggressive “regime change†strategy against governments and political movements that don’t toe Washington’s line or that deviate from Israel’s goals in the Middle East. So she has backed coups, such as in Honduras (2009) and Ukraine (2014); invasions, such as Iraq (2003) and Libya (2011); and subversions such as Syria (from 2011 to the present) – all with various degrees of disastrous results.

I know however that the Democrats lost control of the congress 6 years ago in the midterm elections during Obama's first term in office..when was Obamacare passed into law in the american congress ::confused::
