[/quote] In my time it was secretarial stuff , and trades like , electrical engineering , fitting and machinist , welding ,  agriculture mechanics , motor vehicle mechanics, bricklaying  and designs and technical drawing .
I completed a two year course in agriculture mechanics. IT  was an institution built by Canadians and for the first four years , the lecturers were all Canadians.On graduation you ended up with a" city and guild certificate" from England .
This is parlayed in  the US and  Canada to get  liscened in the trades field
  There were 4 instituitions within a half mile radius of the canje bridge , namely... Berbice high school , NATI,  Madhouse and the dharamsala for old folks
