yes ketchim.  from what I see that police action was ridiculous if that if dat is not wat deh set out to do from the start.

there are simply too many peaceful options that were avalable to starve out that protest and end it peacefully  within a couple of days at most.

the demonstrators were not tactical at all, acted quite without sophistication..without full consideration of their long-standing experience as guyanese.

they ought to have known that the police would shot to kill..them... and they ought to have planned with that in mind.

a positive opposition must always strive to develop their case fully, into all its connections nationally, along with all intersecting interests.

if their case..the current issue with which that opposition is dealing.. is a national one, intersects the interest of the ordinary people of the nation, then the protection of the central group in that issue is best served by linking their protest to the national question, seeking and winning the support of all other groups to bring maximum pressure on the government.

the social structure is built on divide and rule.  the opposition, if it is honest, for the people and for democracy, if it is sophisticated and unemotional, it would be focused on overcoming divide and rule  in all its myriad applications, as a general principle of its organization and planning and practise..MOST PARTICULARLY IN AN ETHNICALLY DIVERSE REALITY.

that demonstration was silly from this vantage point based on what I have come to learn of it.  it was a knee-jerk emotional response that could win nothing for the people of Linden..but what it in fact brought them..death and violence.

that is not the way to have gone.  at the end of the struggle  between  the capitalist class and the interests of the ordinary folk, lies the end also of the ordinary class in this way:  that the ordinary class in the process of struggle transforms itself into a class that can carry society forward

the struggle then is an instrument fundamentally of educating the ordinary people in the process of social organization, of how society works, of industry and economics, of the full ramifications of the stage global society  has arrived at, and what the possibilities are for advanced, democratic social organisation of society as a whole.

this is not difficult at all in the crucible of social struggle.  the ability of the people to learn as they go at extreme pace in struggle has been repeatedly proven over time to be high.  and this is relative to all people..not just those of advanced industrial societies.

it is incumbent on the organisers, the leaders to commit themselves to real struggle, not sham, emotional popular outbursts for silly short term political gain that expose the people to death and destruction and long term sectarian losses.  when they do that they play into the arms of divide and rule

Guyana under the last 20 years of PPP guvment :

has deteriorated into a Cess Pool :

OF corruption and stoopidity !

sane, knowledgeable leaders do not expose the people with bottle, sticks and stones,  to automatic rifles, tasers, stunn grenades, and all that military stuff.

if you go take such a chance with a sectarian group better to go  peaceful period... no bottles, sticks and stones.

simply do a ghandi with the intent of raising consciousness period.  and when challenged if you have been outside the law fall in line.

then the follow up... of linkages with other groups on the legitimacy of the issue and take it national, maximising political power and leverage.

the transformation of the ordianry folk into the capability of full social participation is the goal.  that is how you change society, give society a chance.  ignorant people cant run anything.  the working class is to become the leadership class and to do so they cannot remain a working class.

the process of struggle is to prepare them for taking over society...in which role the take control of the means of production and apply them in ways that benefit all of society..eliminating the need for drudge work, raising the level constantly, on-going, freeing up human time, socializing all the people in the stage of the day fully, humanising society.

thats the point.  thats our job!

the issue of electricity in guyana is a national one/global one..one that is inextricably bound up with globalisation and the growing global state and enslavement of ordinary people.

once the Linden leadership saw this truth, how it is connected-up to guyana and the sell out of the guyanese political classes to globalist forces deh are off and running.

it easy to connect up electricity to all the evils of the day especially banking and how the political classes have sold out there too for guyana's central bank is a tool owned and controlled by forriners to rip the guyanese people off

the Linden leadership could have made an urgent, relevant comprehensive case here, linked up to all the issues in the world and all the problems of the guyanese people in the social process... involving fully in its development the Linden people... tie in all the ordinary people for they are all ripped off too..Indo, Chinese, Potuguese mixed, all insecure, all at risk...and using the linden people as vanguard, fan out into the nation building a case to get electricty re-nationalised and back serving the interest of ordinary people, in nationalist development.

that was the way to go..guyanese transformation by educating  the people into decisive social actors in their social process.
