I never stated that the dates are consistent as it varies but it can be calculated up to the second when these events happen .
It is easier to understand by speaking in generalities and if you are interested knowing the precise time that the winter solstice happened yesterday you can go and google it . Dec 21 was good enough for me

I is old school and I speak from memory and I can be wrong most of the time
I also google stuff that I am ignorant about but you can note that what I stated about solstices and the equinoxes are from high school geography.

Well let me explain . Because of the earth rotation and it's tilting on its Axis we have this effect .
The sun moves between the tropic of cancer and the tropic of Capricorn passing the equator .
This happens twice per year. As the sun moves from North to south winter is experience in the Northern Hemisphere and summer is experience d in the southern hemisphere .' When it reaches the tropic of Capricorn it starts to move northward to the tropic of cancer and winter is felt in the South and summer in the North ,
This is just generalizations but of course you know that the Sun only moves between the Tropic of cancer and the tropic of Capricorn.

Well let me make a detour from this here Solstice thing
There is no question that the Egyptians civilized the Greeks and the Greeks civilized the Romans . The Romans civilized the British and the British claim to come to Africa to civilize them
Last I checked Egypt was in Africa and indirectly Africa civilized the British

I don't remember much bout precession but I believe it had to do with the angle of tilting of the earth's axis as it rotates
