No need for all of this.  If you could have refuted what I stated above you would have.  But you cannot, because it is a precise distillation of religion, especially of the monotheistic variety of Christianity, Judaism and Islam.

I would rather you wallow in your choice in life if that is your thinking....I am not here to convince you otherwise. Your experiences and outlook on life differs from mine diametrically so I cannot justify nor refute...again to each his/her own. If your think that that précis you wrote is ALL that you have gleamed from religion then I can't refute that...that is what your superior intellect concluded. More power to you.

Dude...to each his/her own...I see very many people advance themselves economically and spiritually, leading productive lives and advancing themselves through higher education for their children etc...they have benefitted from the religious teachings that THEY learnt. Now your situation is different.

I guess when you got married it was without a ceremony...no religion, right? Was there an atheist priest? ;D ;D

Turn on the nightly news and you'll find quite the opposite.  You will find the parties and armies of God committing unspeakable acts of violence and destruction upon each other and upon others who do not share their faith or batshyte beliefs.

Turn on the NASA channel and you'll find astronomers have recently discovered a planet very similar to earth, about 500 light years away, which orbit its parent star in the habitable zone, and which is about the same size of this planet.

So I asked the Almighty at Jummah why he made Doctors and Lawyers :

he made doctors to heal his sick and wounded and they were considered Demi Gods


Lawyers he had to incarnate Donkeys and Mules and he dismissed them
