well Max and Mao both insisted that no word is the last one...all is provisional, evolutionary and Marxists must get off their lazy asses and do the work of keeping up to date, extending the science etc...
its a tool of natural science..sociology. I don't know about doctrine. I never took it as doctrine as such..A WORD. never saw it that way. there is evolution for sure and all there is constantly ramifying into all there is...unlimited expansion on a basis we do not know for content and size, a level of potential quite beyond human quantification. we are always wrong to an extent in all we do as a result...yet we must know, decide/conclude and act all the time in our own individual and collective interest....
the many-sided dialectical nature of the process itself, how can things be what they appear to be and their opposites at least at the same time...
the laws of nature require us to be on the ball all the time. nature does not wait on us...it is changing, expanding all the time and our existence contributes to this movement, development growth. our very survival depends on it.
I used to wonder about the particle that holds the solar system in place and how it may be destabilized to send the planet crashing into the sun. I hit upon that because of the fact proven of the orbits in the system and my realization that it could not have been that way forever. then to discover that the reality is electrical..magnetic and that charge separation produces universal energy..and that there is something called dipoles in there that tends to gather in certain imbalances that can move the planets, change gravity on earth etc.
I don't understand all of it well enough to explain it precisely..and I have not tried. too much to know and understand to pull apart everything to know comprehensively...enough to stimulate others and participate in the process with some knowledge...so I try for summary understanding at least as I move on....
so if your maxism becomes dated maybe it is necessary to re-invigorate it by shedding the idea of doctrine..WORD... and see where the science is at at this time. you may follow James' development..or admission..that they were wrong in the old days as he rejected Trotskyism and established his new perspectives in Facing Realty in 1953. in the process the provisionality of existence becomes clear..the nature of the ready availability of the mind for learning the new, as reality changes, evolves, in response to the on-going challenges to existence we must deal with.
I must admit that some of this gets very frightening at times and I wish for the security of idiocy, not knowing a dam thing and being very happy for that. yet the human future lies in knowing and technology...developing the skills to survive in nature regardless of the challenges hat nature throws at us as we go. and that means truth, civilization...not ignorance. marxism as a science is that as far as I can see..a way to truth and survival

Jagan was so honorable and beloved that people from villages like Enmore and others gave their lives up for him and his vision.
I am sure Cappo was marching along with Cheddi

He had nothing to do with the Cold War. He tried to nationalise bauxite, gold, sugar etc and the British freaked out, after which the US joined the freak out party. That is all.
That's like blaming al-Karim Qasim for kicking out the monarchy of Iraq, "forcing the West to back Saddam and his cousins into power". Placing blame like this makes no sense.
He tried to shape it, but couldn't do much. Trinidad played ball with England, sucked up to England, and so was largely left alone. Jagan, despite attempting to do the right thing, set Guyana back about 20 years because he didn't play ball with the big boys. The more you resist, the more your country will be ruined.
Yes, Marx, Darwin and Freud spawned the most important schools of the 19th century. You can argue that the mirror-images of these three schools run the world today: capitalists, creationists/essentialists, egoists.
Either way, today, only neo-Marxist economists know what they're talking about.
This is true and very succinctly put, but you can also argue that his actions were wrong. No Marxist, not even Marx, has a clue how to order a society along anti-capitalist lines. Marxism is simply a critique of capitalism. It is not a model for creating a new economy/society. It doesn't tell you what to do. It's only recently that people have seriously started documenting how one should go about this.
lol; you are a hardcore Left Wing West Indian. That's more rare than a Dwayne Smith century.
