Floyd Mayweather claimed a unanimous points verdict over Manny Pacquiao to win the richest fight in boxing history and maintain his perfect record.
Mayweather, unbeaten in 48 professional fights stretching back to 1996, retains his WBC and WBA welterweight titles and takes the WBO belt from Pacquiao.
The American was caught with the odd good shot, but was quicker throughout and always looked in control.
The judges scored the fight 118-110, 116-112, 116-112.
At a 16,000 sell-out MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas – where some spectators had paid as much as $350,000 for tickets on the resale market – Mayweather, 38, started much the better of the two fighters.
Mayweather bossed the early rounds before Filipino Pacquiao had success in the fourth with a couple of strong left hooks to the head.
But the American always dominated and largely stayed out of trouble, keeping Pacquiao at arms length with his superior footwork
Noisily backed by the 16,000-strong crowd, Pacquiao, 36, continued to have the odd success – landing a strong left in the eighth – but Mayweather’s speed and movement proved key, and as the fight wore on he began to have more success.
The 11th was the most one-sided of the contest as Mayweather, looking as fresh as he had in the opening round, picked off a tired-looking Pacquiao almost at will.
Mayweather avoided Pacquiao’s increasingly ragged attempts to land in the final round and comfortably won on all the judges’ scorecards.
The fight, watched by celebrities and sporting stars, is expected to generate an estimated $400m (£265m). (BBC Sport)

Floyd Mayweather
remained undefeated Saturday night after a unanimous-decision victory over
Manny Pacquiao
.
Pacquiao, however, didn't agree with the outcome.
After the loss, boxing commentator Max Kellerman interviewed Pacquiao, who said he felt he won the fight. When asked why he felt that way, Manny said that Floyd "didn't do anything."
The fight may not have lived up to the hype, but we'll be hoping for a rematch before the two boxers retire.

what rematch?
Floyd better doh fight no rematch if he wants to keep his record intact...unless he can pik the judges himself.
I never thought Pac man would win a round of that fight. he did well to win a round or 2.
Mayweather is the smartest boxer who ever lived. I am so proud of that guy, so impressed by him. he does not look the part but he is brilliant in all ways..so brilliant he is unique..incredible!
look at the way he fights. he will not allow a fight to get into a street fight and get himself all banged up. he has not been hit in his career so he is not a candidate to lose his mind for the blows he received. he received few indeed.
Mayweather boxes his opposition into futility, shutting them down, neutralizing their strengths, maxing out their weaknesses. from what I have read so far of the fight last night Floyd completely neutralized Pac for most of the fight, shut him down and hit him at will, taking the fight 12 rounds of pure skill, sucking out any chance Pac might have had
Manny had no chance of ever beating Floyd..and has non period..save they manage to do to Floyd what they did to Larry Holmes..conspire to take away his undefeated status by fraud.
so...unless Floyd has total control of any future fight with Pac..or against anyone at all... he must take care to ensure no fraud is set up to cheat him out of his undefeated status

This was the worst prize fight I have ever seen. A complete waste of 2 hours.
At the end of this "fight" neither Pacman or Mayweather had a single cut on their faces, a swollen lip or eyes, or any marks whatsoever. I remember seeing a video of a post fight press conference after the Tommy Hearns v. Sugar Ray Leonard fight. Neither of them could see as their eyes and faces were so beaten, bruised, and swollen.
This is why boxing is a dying sport. None of the so called prize fighters today actually want to box. They just want to collect a paycheck.

Maaaaaaan, Roberto Duran was ten times the boxer Mayweather was/is or will ever be.
Guys like him, Ali, Frazer, Norton, Foreman, Hagler, Hearns, Lenoard, Del La Hoya were real fighters.
You don't walk out of the ring after a prize fight looking exactly the way you looked when walked into the ring. ::LOL::
