these horses appear bred for the distance
Classic Empire....Win Candidate
Twisted Tom.....possible up-setter
J Boys Echo..in the super mix (fist 4 finishers)
Epicharis......at this point a win candidate
candidate
Patch.....not a win candidate but can do the d (d-distance)
Lookin at Lee..can do the d but is not a winning type..at best in the super
Irap...great pedigree for the distance but class is a question. 'he does not like to win' by record'
Cloud Computing...win candidate
Gormley....sound pedigree but still how good is he ::confused:: I don't expect him to win but super possibilities
Tosses at this time
Tapwrit....weak pedigree on the dam side. not good enough for anything I can see at this time. we will see come saturday
Senior Investment... decent pedigree and good form. Deep closer going to need high collapsing speed up front. I may rue tossing but this is monday. I may change my mind.
Multiplier...Weak Pedigree for routes on his mothers side. has a very good competitive race at Hawthorne in Chicago. I remain open-minded on what role he will play in the race
Meantime...Poor Pedigree for a mile and a half
conquest Mo' Money...suspect to me on his route pedigree. he may not be capable of running a mile and a half to beat the top ones in here

Patch also begins to look interesting with J R Velasquez riding and trained by Pletcher and a very suggestive pedigree indeed. he is surely built to get a mile and a half. and his sire Union Rags was a Belmont winner.
I pull back on Patch as a Toss. I now consider him in the contending mix
the only question is how classy is Unions Rags as a sire. I don't see any big winners in his frst crop which is all we have to deal with. it is early yet. but I expected at least 1 big winner in the 54 horses Isee so far in that first crop of his
but there are some dynamite lines in Patch's pedigree..Gone west and Northern Dancer on his Sire side...AP Indy and the tremendous Unbridled line on his Dam side. this horse shud be able really run long races or classic distances... all things being equal.
and he is still lightly raced. careful with this guy and his connections who are very capable

I am in a slump eh man. I am struggling..cant keep my eye open and all dat. but I will say it is a crazy race....
let me tell you this:
Tapwrit on paper has the ped to do the D..the experience etc. but I don like the pedigree quality on his dam side...
the same with Irish War Cry
I have a sense about Gormley that I dont like..especially since he has dat old arse Espinoza riding. Maybe Espinoza will try, will ride hard today in this big race...but he does not usually anymore
I have tossed Hollywood Handsome and J Boys Echo, Meantime, Senior Investment from the win
they like MULTIPLIER and he is a closing style horse with the perfect closing rider on his back Joel Rosario. that horse has sprint pedigree all the way but he has been running routes so maybe he can do it despite his sprint pedigree
EPICHARIS has all it takes to win the race save its a new track and distance. Horses can balk at a new track. I don't think this horse has run anywhere but at Meydan in the Middle East. and none has ever come out of there and run well in the USA first race

I have also tossed Lookin at Lee from the win or as a win candidate
for the win add to Epicharis and Multiplier, Irish War Cry and Tapwrit..regardless of what i think of them. they are up in the odds and many voices are surely better than just one..my voice.
as a shot I like Patch.
and be mindful that TWISTED TOM has an excellent pedigree for this race. his Beyers are low but that shud not be a problem. I will tell you why later.
Gormley shud be considered for the exotics...even the win if you like him

I have not gone to the track because of my mood. I don't want to be battling with crowds today to get my bets in. just not in the mood for all dat.
and my luck is only so so at home here now. I just had a horse win a race at woodbine,,#2 in the seventh. 4-5 horses did not get a fair start so they refunded the dam race dropping my winner from 12 to one to 5 to 1.
I am considering the Belmont as I told you....Patch and Multiplier, Irish War Cry and Taprit...Twisted Top as a loooooooooong shot

there is a lot of speed in the race led by Epicharis and Irish War Cry. Gormly is pacy so is Twisted Tom. and Meantime is likely the fastest of them all. so there will be pace..maybe even great pace.
that is why Multiplier is dangerous..maybe even L Lee for more than his usual piece...
Patch is dangerous too if the pace gets out of hand..coming late. Patch has great connections..Pletcher....J R Velasquez.
and it is the same with Twisted Tom: Chad Brown and J J Castellano. as a result of those connections, these 2 horses are fresh and likely dangerous..which is why they are in the race
