poor people didn't have real baking pans.....so we used an kinds of empty metal cans....including sardine cans!

i don't think baking cake in a sardine can, can ever be normal language for me.
weird... the cans are so small, was it make belief cup cakes?

We was so poor that we aint never had no stove or oven just a wood burnin fireside . The ingenuity of my momma was of such that she used it to bake and as a Tandoori oven .
The sakal roti as she called it was divine after she rubbed off the ashes .
Little did she knew that that herself and many others were pioneers in the environmental movement as they burn wood a renewable energy source with a minimal carbon footprint
