Oh I see you call them terrorists when they do bad things saying "God is Great" you rush to call them terrorists...so my question to you was: What do you call them they do good things? Obviously you rally don't care when they do good things....because your focus is to see them in a negative light.
But to each his own...don't hate, appreciate.

Civil society calls them terrorists. Our secular laws demarcate and punish their crimes as terrorism.
What do you call these people who shout out "God is Great", cite religious texts, and proceed to cut off a man's head, burn a man alive, blow up schools, mosques and funeral processions, and fly planes into office building? Let's hear it!

Would you prosecute these "crazy extremists" for their atrocities and if so under what laws? If not, then why not?

Well haven't we prosecuted the terrorists under the US laws? Have we not prosecuted a war on the perceived terrorists both in the US and abroad? Aren't we still prosecuting not only but also suspected terrorists?
What are you talking about bro...

So they are "terrorists" now? Or are they still "crazy extremists"? Would you like to elect which term defines these people?

But you just conceded it's not just a matter of semantics. It's a matter of law. You don't label these people as "terrorists" because it sounds nice or appropriate even.
Their actions and their crimes constitute, and is prosecuted, as terrorism under Anti-terror legislation. And civil societies everywhere have quite rightly referred to them as terrorists.
This isn't rocket science Bro. I don't know why you find this so difficult a concept to grasp. ::LOL::
