THOSE uBERISTS ARE BASICALLY ANONYMOUS!  NOBODY ON THE STREETS KNOW WHO THEY ARE.

THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO INTERACTION BETWEEN THOSE WHO WON UBER AND THOSE WHO WORK FOR UBER AND THE CUSTOMERS ON THE STREETS.

UBER MAKES MONEY HERE BUT HAS ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSIBILITY IN THE PROCESS. WE DO NOT EVEN KNOW IF UBER PAYS TAXES IN TORONTO,ONTARIO, CANADA.  WE DON'T KNOW IF UBER IS MAKING PROFITS IN TORONTO AND REINVESTING IT HERE..OR AR THEY A MASSIVE DRAIN ON THE TORONTO ECONOMY

the taxi business imperfect as it yet is, is run by the city of toronto councillors we all elected and know.  we know who they are, where they live, their families, their lives.  we know the by-laws that operate the taxi industry and these laws are responsive to us.  if we have a problem with the industry we know who to go to, how to deal with it.

HOW  IN THE HELL DO WE KNOW HOW TO DEAL WITH UBER ::confused:: ::confused:: ::confused:: ::confused::

the city council runs the taxi industry, the industry helps to pay for the city council.  what is the case with Uber then ::confused::

Uber appears to be a cost cutting-profit maxing machine for its owners.  they have no city council to worry about, no insurance costs no absolutely nothing relative to costs that are associated with the normal running of the taxi industry that balance out in the city.  all they appear to do is to set up their programs enroll people and off to the bank they go..profits all the way. while the people on the ground suffer with all all the costs on every level, human and financial.  they sit back and collect profits at virtually no cost to them at all..none, nada >:( >:( >:( 

what are the benefits for toronto  then::confused:: ::confused:: ::confused:: ::confused::

none, nada, zip, zilch.

an anonymous group comes into every city in the world establishes economic/social control, monopolizes everything in their path while spouting democracy in their written advertisements and marketing programs...and no one knows who they are, knows how to contact them directly or anything of the sort.  no regulation touches them..they can do as they please ::confused:: ::confused::


and this is something we must even debate ::confused:: ::confused::

the case is self evident.  they should not even have been allowed to operate as far as they have operated so far.

it is time to stop Uber now..immediately.  to kick them out. 

and to clean up the cab industry at the same time..make it what it should be..a proper and complimentary service in the city that rewards everyone involved at any time in it, relative to their part in it

lets have competition!  Thats the only way to keep prices low and competitive!  Also, people can have a choice! 

Those who fear Uber can still have the choice of using a taxi.  Better yet, do their own driving!

absolute nonsense! skiggles.  you have had so called competition for so long now and what has it produced..the very mess with which the world is now engulfed in.

look here man;  WE KNOW WHAT IS NEEDED AND HOW TO MAKE IT SO.  THERE IS NO DOUBT ABOUT THAT.

WE KNOW THAT TO HAVE DECENT COST EFFECTIVE, AFFORDABLE AND CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE TRANSPORTATION THERE CANNOT BE PROFIT IN IT FROM THE OWNERSHIP END

THAT IS PLATE OWNERS WHO HAVE CREATED A MARKET IN PLATES THAT SEE PLATES REACH A MILLION DOLLARS FOR ONE..BUT WHO HOLD THIS VALUE AND NEVER EVER DRIVE A CAB.

THEY ARE THE ONES WHO DRIVE UP ALL THE COSTS IN THE INDUSTRY FROM INSURANCE TO THE METERING OF RATES..BY TAKING ALL THE PROFITS OUT OF IT FOR THEMSELVES.

the city must kill the market in plates dats all.

once you issue a pate to a driveR who drives the cab himself like 50% of costs are gone with the wind.  all he has to do is to make a reasonable amount every day to meet all his costs and make a good living.  he has no owner to pay..just his year fees to the city.

THE CAB DRIVER NEVER OWNS THE PLATE. IT DOES NOT BELONG TO HIM.  WHEN HE/SHE IS DONE AS A CAREER, RETIRES, DIES ETC., THE PLATE GOES BACK TO THE CITY. 

THE CITY CAN TAKE IT FROM HIM/HER AT ANY TIME FOR INFRACTIONS OF RULES HE IS GIVEN FROM THE START.

NO MARKET ITPLATES.  DAT WOULD BE DONE, FINISHED AWAY WITH

uber does not offer competition don't you see.  watch! 

uber will kill cabs and as soon is it does that Uber prices will skyrocket to fill out the price market that cabs used to occupy.  what do you think Uber will leaver that there or give it back to the consumer ::confused::

what kind of businessman are you ::confused::

if a cab now costs 10 dollars that uber does for 5..and that five dollars the people prefer and use uber and kill cabs..as soon as the cabs die Uber will take that 5 five dollars from the consumer by jacking up its price.  the consumer has no say and no choice

give me one reason why Uber wont take that money that hey consider available money to be taken ::confused::

that is what they are in it for..to make as much profit as they can.  they may in fact take more..jack the price up to 12, 15 dollars.

and who are you going to complain too ::confused:: ::confused:: ::confused::

you dont even know  who Uber are, where they are located, who runs the business. 

and there is no bylaw that I know that regulates Uber.  they are international so what local law regulates them or can regulate them ::confused:: ::confused::  do you know ::confused:: ::confused:: ::confused::

clean up the cab industry get rid of the big owners and pass the savings onto the people by making the operation of cabs far cheaper than it is now..simply by getting rid of the owner and the market in plates

I use Cabs all the time : I pay 4.50 to just step in !

a trip from a party the odda night cost me 85 dollars.

Had I used UBER it would have been 45.

the Taxi biznesss is steeped in CORRUPTION all the way to City Hall Councillors.

UBER hav them running.

Look at my post above showing the cost of plates from $360 000 to $65 000

UBER caused that monopoly to SINK .

and you talking bout "economics" ......

what is tatter about that anyway.....

some time ago Toronto began to issue the very type of cabs  I recommend.  some % of Toroto cabs were issued about 20 years ago in which there is no market.  they cannot be bought and sold.  they are issued to drivers who run them.  they are owned by the city and when they are done the plates go back to the city.

has that been changed now ::confused:: ::confused::  I don't know if that has been changed.  but right there you have the very model I am talking about.

it cost back in those days significantly less to operate those cabs than those already owned and controlled by the people who ran the old industry.  those plates could be bought and sold not the newly issued one.  from that point onward Toronto issued no plates that could be privately owned.  the market in place for cab plates were for the 5 thousand or so older plates..not the new ones
