I think blaming muslims for pushing Europeans into America is wrong. It's the equivalent of saying that Europeans had to commit genocides, all because muslim Kings wouldn't let them engage in free trade.

In other words, the brown man made them do it. The European colonialists didn't want to, but were forced to due to economic reasons imposed upon their poor bodies by evil muslims. The alternative to free trade is barbarism and war! Why you do this to us, muslims!? Why you don't let us obey the laws of the market!?

And this is the same logic that has the Western world "opening up markets" in Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan today. It's the same twisted rationale. For those in power, the alternative to the market and trade on their terms, is absolute devastation. And it's never their fault. It's always the victim's fault for "making them act this way."

And let's not glamorise the Silk Route. We have thousands of slaves in India making silk today. In ancient times, in China, it was worse. It was peasants and the poor being forced to make goods for the Europeans. It wasn't a "good thing" which was shut down.

Now the phrase mostly drives people, especially in America, crazy. The problem's with the world are due to the DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE RACES, many believe, and these problems would be avoided if EVERY RACE ACTED MORE WHITE and CHRISTIAN (And if you can't act this way, GET THE HELL OUT OF MY COUNTRY!).

And their idea of "whiteness" is always some idyllic, fantastical, 1950s version of Americana. A point in time, ironically, when 80 percent of the nation was in some kind of workers union.

to be proper we have to re-phrase rameshs by-line.  it is not to blame Muslims for that development. 

I don't see history as an activity to find blame but o detck what happened, to help us explain how things actually go to helps us streamline our own current behavior hopefully in the positive
division and schism in islam of the day gave the christians opportunity to drive out the moors.  the christians used their new domination to facilitate sea navigation which led to european expansion into the world...

in the process like all history we can see cause and effect, economic/class interest etc.
