the british people had a vote, a referendum that had its result.  whatever that result turned out to be that's it.  there can be no decision against that, or to change dat result.

such socially decisive political activity by the people is basic, fundamental, the law, the core of the activity of all nations.  there is nothing more basic than that.  it cannot be changed by parliament.  that vote is even more basic than parliament.

what they are doing is trying an end run around that fact which is constitutional in both written and naturally developed way...but more so the natural way.  what the people want and do is basic

the political activity of the people of any nation in collective movement that results in social change is basic according to the/any written constitution ..OR OUTSIDE OF IT.

what the people do in this way is law..inviolate.

now the supremes vote that parliament has the right to stop what the people voted for.  how in the hell can that be ::confused::

the people own representative government..they vote for the parliament and sent them there to do the bidding of the people.  that is what representative government is all about. the government is not there to do anything but the business and interest of the people.

if the government calls an election for the people to vote on an issue of general concern whatever the people decide that's it.  the government cannot come now and vote against the people who put them there..who also voted for the particular result that stands.
