“Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man living in the sky who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time!
But He loves you. He loves you, and He needs money! He always needs money! He's all-powerful, all-perfect, all-knowing, and all-wise, somehow just can't handle money!â€

The bible is tied to Christianity...who wrote it, I am not sure.
However it is not possible to appeal to a god without a religious reference. Our father is popular in Xtianity..our point of reference to divinity is primarily through religion...

You don't have to go to church I agree...but you have to submit to a religious doctrine...otherwise I am afraid I am not sure otherwise.

the destroyer of religion is progressive social change...popular democracy in which the social power is taken by the people.
truth is not a problem for majority control. no truth threatens popular control. truth destabilizes minority social control. it is in the interest of minority control to suppress all truth for all truth destabilizes its undemocratic exploitation of society. the word propaganda would have no mean in social democracy, opposed to its basic efficacy in zero sum exploitative society
when truth does not threaten it can become the basis of educational systems..proven fact about life. life becomes by sight and not by faith..as it should be. what is now complex truth becomes simple by popular familiarity with it and massive, faster social progress becomes the order of general social movement. no difficulty remains unexplored.
such a social reality will not tolerate mystery. mystery will be relegated to fantasy stories, a genre' of literature. what is not know would be not known at the moment, but will be in time when it is sorted out. there would be knowledge and lack of knowledge. but how to learn would be the tool. we will know in time. lack of knowledge would not be mystery. and all that exists, can be seen and known must have an explanation as all is and can only be material, a product of nature and therefore explainable

Mapster ,
for all of those reasons – psychological, neurological, historical, cultural and logistical –
experts guess that religion will probably never go away.
Religion,
whether it’s maintained through fear or love :
is highly successful at perpetuating itself.
If not, it would no longer be with us.
