Thanks Kwami. Coming from you Bo that is the best compliment anyone could ever receive.
But on this topic of religion and morality I don't think it's about intelligence (or lack thereof). For me it was simply reading the religious texts like the Bible and Koran which convinced me (more than any other text I had read or person I spoke with or to) that religion was man made. These religious texts contained some of the greatest absurdities (not to mention the multitudes of contradictions and discrepancies) I had ever read. From talking snakes and donkeys, to burning bushes, to a monkey man-god lifting up mountains, to the repugnant idea of vicarious redemption, to illiterate prophets being able to recite perfectly word for word everything allegedly dictated to him, and then after he is dead taking a supersonic night flight on a white horse to a place he had never been or seen before.
These texts were obviously and clearly made by man. They are not divine revelations. And it follows that if they are man made then they cannot be the authority for anything.
On the issue of morality. I find it absolutely insulting the proposition that we humans, individually or collectively, could not decide upon a right action or thing without celestial/divine permission. That without this celestial/divine permission we would simply not know right from wrong. That our human solidarity, our innate knowledge and sense of right and wrong and what is just and unjust is worthless to us unless it comes as a gift from a dictator in the heavens. What bullocks!!

In debating I know when to hold em , know when to fold em , know when walk away and know when to run.
I chose my spots carefully and never take on anyone that is superior to me intellectually.
